This section explains the process for setting up Modern authentication method with legacy protocols.

As part of the setup we will create a service user call VBOaccount, you need to provide a password for that account, that meets your normal password policy. You must remember this as it will be used elsewhere in the setup process.

We will now perform the following tasks on your behalf

Creating VBO User on Azure

We will create a user called VBOAccount within your Azure AD, this process can take a 2 - 10 Mins depending on Microsoft whilst the following tasks take place:

Assigning Permissions to VBO account

Creating exchange groups

Enabling legacy authorisation protocol

Wait until these setting have propagated across all Microsoft services.

Creating Application on Azure

Create Azure application call CloudCover365 backup

Assign it the correct permissions.

You must grant the permissions to continue.

Granting Application Permission

This step check permssions have been granted correctly

Creating Admin Group

This process create as group called Veeam365Admin this is used to identify backup admin users.

Adding you to Admin Group

We will add the user your are currently logged in with to this group.

If you need more Administration Users you cam just add them.

Adding Org to Veeam

Please re-enter the password you created intitally.

If a previous install was interupted we may have provided you with a secret to continue, if requested please enter it here.

We will now configure our Veeam backup engine to perform your backup.

To enable teams backup using the authenication method you will need a teams licence for the VBO user.

The cheapest licence to achieve this is Business Basic

You need to add teams licence to VBOAccount, you can find instructions on Buy or remove licenses if you need help.

If you prefer not to buy a Teams licence please look at another authentication method.

This final step can take a little longer whilst we check that everything has been configured correctly.
